Hi Lauren, Cool, moody photo. As usual, I have to catch up on your postings. I like the power and the expression of your paintings. Which comes first, the title or the painting...or do they go hand in hand?

Which comes first, idea or the painting...hmmmm. It seems (usually) I start painting... and an idea emerges and then I continue with that idea. (written on the back since i have so many paintings going at once) Though I'd say about a third of the time... a title will pop into my head, and then I try to express it.
That is one of the many things I got from the Burridge workshop. You need an intent.... otherwise, you won't know when you're finished. :)
