Finding my way back to the High Road

Work in Progress ("Lil Help")
8 x 8
Acrylic and pencil on gessoed paper

I gathered my unfinished "high road" series paintings...and started back full steam... I have about 15 paintings going on at once... Some canvas and some paper. It really felt good to get back to what I want to paint. I'm thinking about neutrals against brights and how loud the brights sing against quiet color.... I like working things out in this small size...then trying to paint the same feeling on a larger support. It's quite a challenge for me to keep the same spontaneity when I'm painting something over again.

Have a great weekend!
We'll be having a heat wave here... might get to 17 degrees! whoo hoo! Party on Garth!

"You take the high road, and I'll take the low road . . . " I can only work on one painting at a time. Looking forward to seeing these!

LOL Patrice...your road is far from the "low road" ... I have them spread all over the studio floor drying... the trick is not to step on them accidentally!

Wow, 15 at once? That's pretty impressive! Glad you are back to what you want to paint.

We're up to 22 degrees here, another heat wave. It's funny how 40 degrees at the end of Sept is really cold, but in the middle of January it is really warm!

Do you intend to do this in a larger format?

Thanks Debra...
I'm not saying that I'll FINISH all 15... just that I have that many going on at once... all different sizes... So there is always hope that the next one will go in a fantastic direction!

I'm going to walk this afternoon... It's 15 degrees...think I'll wear shorts. :)
